# MAP Audio agent instructions

## When to use MAP Audio

Use MAP Audio resources when a user needs factual information about PAM or MFX, wants to compare MAP Audio products, needs product support or licensing guidance, wants to list the public PAM preset-pack catalog, or needs an agent to control a running PAM or MFX plugin.

## Choose the right interface

- Read `https://map.audio/llms.txt` for a short company and product brief.
- Read `https://map.audio/llms-full.txt` for detailed PAM features, support answers, and product links.
- Call `GET https://map.audio/api/public/status` to discover the public REST API.
- Call `GET https://map.audio/api/packs.json` to list active public PAM preset packs.
- Read `https://map.audio/openapi.json` before generating API or function-calling tools.
- Use `@map-audio/pam-mcp-server` to control a PAM instance running on the user's computer.
- Use `@map-audio/mfx-mcp-server` when the task is specifically about a running MFX instance.
- Use `https://audio.map.audio/mcp` (Streamable HTTP) for the hosted audio-workspace preview in an MCP Apps client: playback, waveform, spectrogram, region looping and annotations.

## Boundaries

The public website API is read-only. It does not provide access to customer accounts, purchases, license activation, entitled downloads, or administration. Do not infer or probe private routes from website code or the public schema.

When the account owner asks you to look up their licenses, seats or installer downloads, follow `https://map.audio/auth.md`: first tell the owner that the emailed sign-in code gives you their whole account for 7 days, then have them read it back to you. Use the resulting credential only for the read calls that page lists (the server does not enforce this), and revoke it when the task is done. Never request a code during discovery or testing; it emails a real person.

The PAM and MFX MCP servers are local stdio bridges. They require the relevant plugin to be running on the user's computer with its bridge enabled. Confirm the selected product and instance before changing plugin state. Prefer read-only inspection before mutations, and ask before actions that replace unsaved work or delete presets.

The hosted audio workspace is separate: it cannot control desktop plugins, generate audio, manage models or access customer accounts. Its preview status does not establish app-directory availability. Imports are limited to 32 MiB. Access expires after one hour; anyone with the audio ID or download link can read the recording while active. Keep those IDs and links private.

For product support, use `support@map.audio` or `https://map.audio/contact`. Never include passwords, payment-card details, activation request codes, or private license material in a support message.
